Cameroon Study Finds Severe Trauma Symptoms—and a Warning Against Individualising Recovery

Almost all 133 internally displaced women in a new Cameroon study crossed a screening threshold for probable PTSD. Personal “sense of coherence” was associated with fewer symptoms, but the small cross-sectional study does not make coping a substitute for safety and mental-health services.
