GOLD COAST, Australia — Nominations have opened for the 2026 Gold Coast Women of the Year awards and will remain open until 20 September.
The programme recognises women contributing to the Gold Coast community through professional, entrepreneurial and voluntary work.
Categories include Champion of Education, Champion of Sport, Entrepreneurs, Innovation and Tech Trailblazer, Champion of the Arts, Wellness Warriors, Young Women, Stars of Tourism and Champion of Women.
Finalists are scheduled to be announced on 10 October, followed by an awards dinner on 14 November.
Eligibility is limited to Queensland residents, and previous category winners cannot be nominated again. Applicants and nominators should review the full rules for residence, consent and supporting information.
Strong nominations should use specific evidence rather than general praise. Useful material can include programmes created, people reached, measurable results, barriers overcome and examples of sustained community contribution.
Nominees should also understand how their name, biography and photograph may be used publicly. Consent is particularly important when a nomination discusses sensitive community or health work.
The awards provide visibility rather than a guaranteed business or professional benefit. Nevertheless, recognition can strengthen a woman’s public profile and connect community leaders across sectors.
